Good Man Down

I've been in love with the idea of cooler weather, fall, the smell of pine needles. Consequently, I can't get this song out of my head. Not that I really want to...

Studio Doodles

Hello Friends,

I've just been buzzing around my studio trying to organize a bit, with little luck. Take note, collecting magazines can become cumbersome. I've invested in stacks of file organizers from Ikea and they are my saving grace. Seriously.

Anywhoo, lately I've been trying to work on my watercolor skills (or lack thereof). This little doodle was inspired by a poem by Ezra Pound, in an old book I found at a thrift store a few years ago.

In A Station of The Metro

The apparition of these faces in the crowd;
Petals on a wet, black bough.

–Ezra Pound

I'm thinking of making a painting series based on some poems on the book. Not is watercolor though. Haha.

My Apartment Therapy

The Mister and I moved into a great new apartment in Brooklyn about four months ago. Same neighborhood, but a little bit further out from the subway (A 10 minute walk never hurt anyone). I love this apartment and the building. It's just our place and our landlady, who happens to be the coolest lady ever.

I've been slowly putting the place into order, trying to keep a fun/creative/eclectic vibe going. Thinking I'm just about done with the living room except for the corner where our coats, shoes, and bicycle gear  goes. That will take time. And shelves.

Our love seat was free, given to us by our movers. Vintage blanket, urban outfitters tapestry.

Masks I got the Mister in my travels. Also I love our shutters.

Some knick knacks. My Anna Sui poster by Kosik.

Like I said, eclectic.

Whiskey, doing an impression of a rug.

The chair was from my old office, they were going to throw it out. My awesome $4 camel saddle.

My fat Whiskey girl.

What do you think?
Sorry the images are so choppy, but I don't have a wide angle lens. Someday!
I'm quite happy with the way the apartment is shaping up. I'm one of those people that just buys things they love at random times and tries to make it work with the rest of my stuff. Lucky for me, that's an actual 'look' now. Heehee. More images of the apartment next week! Stay tuned.

*Side note: Sorry for all the © business, but I've read too many articles on Pinterest happy people claiming images as their own. :/

Moodboard Monday: Celestial

I'm one of those people that has piles of magazines and folders of clipped out images containing any- and everything that inspires me. I'll come home with a hubcap if it inspires me somehow. Luckily, mood boards make it much easier to stay inspired, and much less messy!

Bare With Me

Hi All,

It's been forever and I feel terrible about that, but truth be told I needed to be focusing more on my real life. Lots of changes happening around the 'ol casa here in Brooklyn. I'm hoping to get some pictures up soon. Other than that I won't be providing any filler info on what I've been up to, I'm pulling the private card on this one.
What do you think of the blog facelift? Let us consider it my 'new leaf'. Revisions and change is a part of life. One to be excited about I believe. So, lets move forward! Shall we?
